Scientific Publications has traditionally prepared an updated list of scientific journals that are no longer indexed in the Scopus database due to non-compliance with the standards. We recommend reading the current list of publications excluded from the system in February 2025.

Why are journals excluded from Scopus?
Scopus is one of the leading scientific metrics platforms that indexes quality scientific publications and journals. The platform's expert committee regularly checks whether publications meet the established criteria and excludes those that no longer meet the standards. There are several grounds on which a journal may lose indexation.
The main reasons for exclusion of journals from the Scopus database:
- Low quality of articles. Publications publishing materials with insufficient scientific value or weak contribution to the development of science may be excluded.
- Violation of academic integrity. Detection of plagiarism or self-plagiarism becomes grounds for exclusion from the database.
- Low scientific metrics. The Radar system detects anomalies, such as sudden changes in the number of publications or citations.
- Failure to comply with Scopus standards. If a journal violates peer-review requirements, demonstrates poor research quality, or fails to provide scientific novelty, it loses indexing.
- Change of editorial policy. Weakening of content requirements or change of scientific direction may lead to exclusion of the publication from the database.
Last month two scientific journals were excluded from the Scopus database. You can familiarise yourself with the list of excluded journals in the table below.
