The company "Scientific Publications" continuously monitors and analyzes important information for the research community. To facilitate the work of scientists, we have prepared a list of Scopus/Web of Science journals in Poland. Let’s take a closer look at the features of this table and how it was compiled.
How can scientists use the information in the table?
Having information about the list of Polish journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, scientists will be able to plan their research activities more efficiently and effectively, which will provide:
- The ability to successfully choose the most suitable scientific journal for publication.
- Better assess the scientific potential of the selected journal.
- Evaluate the research potential of the region and the dynamics of changes in scientometric indicators of specific journals.
- Improve the overall publication statistics of the country by publishing high-quality scientific articles.
- Assess the possibility of publishing in the national language.
Scopus: List of Journals
To compile the list of Polish Scopus journals, materials from the scientometric database, information from journal profiles, and data from the Scimago Journal Rank were used.
The Scopus journals listed in the table can be sorted by:
- Journal title.
- ISSN.
- Indexing.
- SNIP indicator.
- Quartile (Q) by CiteScore.
- Research discipline.
Additionally, the table includes links to the page of each listed journal indexed in Scopus and its homepage.
Polish Journals in Web of Science
To organize the list of Polish journals indexed in Web of Science, data from the Web of Science Core Collection, Master Journal List, and Journal Citation Reports were used.
The list of Web of Science journals can be sorted by:
- Title.
- ISSN.
- Indexing.
- Impact Factor (with citation index from Web of Science Core Collection).
- Journal Citation Indicator.
- Journal Quartile (Q).
- Field of Knowledge.
Each listed journal includes a link to its page in the Master Journal List and the journal’s homepage.
Polish journals in the Scopus database
The Scopus scientometric database indexes thousands of scientific journals across various fields of knowledge and disciplines. For a journal to be included in this database, it must meet strict quality criteria and go through the stages of submission, verification, clarification, review of the decision, and communication.
The inclusion of a journal in this database does not mean that work on it is complete. On the contrary, it marks the beginning of an even more serious and thorough stage, requiring continuous selection of high-quality content, adherence to ethical standards, compliance with scientometric indicators, and much more.
Moreover, Scopus continuously monitors the quality of scientific publications and removes journals from the database on a monthly basis. Therefore, selecting a journal for publication should be done with great care.
Today, Polish journals in the Scopus database hold leading positions among scientific publications worldwide, indicating their high scientific potential and ranking.
Web of Science: List of Polish journals
Web of Science is one of the most global scientometric databases, with citation depth dating back to 1900. The core of the database is the Web of Science Core Collection, which includes seven citation indexes, four of which are journal indexes. To be included in one of them, a journal must meet 24 quality criteria. If, in addition, it meets four additional impact criteria, it will be included in a higher-ranking citation index.
Polish journals in Web of Science are represented in each of the four citation indexes mentioned above. This indicates a high level of development and authority of Polish scientific journals.
